Biography

Michelle M. Friedman

Michelle is the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Davis & Kuelthau.  She is responsible for the marketing, communication and business development efforts of the firm.  In addition to strategic business development efforts, she directs media relations, branding, advertising, website development, firm sponsorships, events, charitable contributions, marketing training, and more. 

In 2008 she led the branding efforts of the firm with the creation of a new website, logo, advertising campaign and promotional incentives.  The campaign was recognized by the Chicago Chapter Legal Marketing Association as the best Identity Launch in 2008 in the Midwest, earning the firm two Your Honor Awards for excellence in its identity launch and best promotional product.  In additon it's vendor Regis Marketing won an award for Best Vendor Partnership of the year.

The competition included law firms from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana.  The awards recognize creativity, execution, achievement and overall excellence in legal marketing by law firms throughout the Midwest region.  

Prior to joining Davis & Kuelthau, Michelle worked as a Client Relations Manager in an AMLAW 100 firm for seven years.  She is a proud veteran of the United States Army Military Intelligence Corps where she served four years on active duty as an Arabic Linguist, with an emphasis on Egyptian dialect.  Michelle was stationed in Egypt, Georgia, Northern California, Texas and South Carolina during her enlistment.  In addition, she worked at the American Embassy in Cairo, Egypt during a summer internship.

Michelle graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Mass Communications from the American University in Cairo.  Her academic focus was on journalism and Middle Eastern studies.  She also received her linguistic certification (AA) from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Presidio of Monterey, California where she studied Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Dialect.
