MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bar Association recently presented Peter Bruce, an attorney at Davis & Kuelthau s.c., with a 2010 Lifetime Achievement award for his numerous accomplishments throughout his legal career.

Peter, a retired Northwestern Mutual Life executive, joined the firm in 2007 after his thirty-five plus year career at Northwestern Mutual Life which spanned a variety of roles and responsibilities.  He began in the legal department, rose to General Counsel and Secretary, and then transitioned into business operations, eventually becoming Chief Insurance Officer.  In his final role, he was responsible for product lines representing approximately 85 percent of the company's revenues.

Davis & Kuelthau marked Peter's first foray into private practice. He is based out of the firm's Milwaukee office and will focus on his continued community service efforts in addition to providing pro bono legal services, particularly in the area of guardianship and the foster care system.

In addition to his stellar accomplishments in the business community, Peter has always been very active in the Milwaukee area non-profit and philanthropic community, serving on numerous boards, including: Alverno College, Badger Meter Foundation, Curative Rehabilitation Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Milwaukee Archdiocese Catholic Community Foundation, and the Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund.In addition, he continues to serve on several corporate boards including Continental Savings Bank, Growth Design Corporation, and the American Management Association.
