Attorney Brian J. Pfeil Named Chair of Davis|Kuelthau’s Construction Industry Team

MILWAUKEE – Davis|Kuelthau, s.c. has selected Brian J. Pfeil to serve as the firm’s next Construction Industry Chair. Pfeil succeeds James E. Braza who now serves the firm as an Of Counsel team member.

Brian joined Davis|Kuelthau’s Litigation and Construction Industry teams in 2016. His practice primarily focuses on disputes involving real property, including boundary disputes, water rights, easements, partition actions and complex foreclosures, and workouts. He represents residential builders and remodelers, homeowners, commercial builders, developers, and many trades within the construction industry. He also represents national title companies regarding their insured’s property rights in lien priority disputes, challenges to the validity and enforceability of conveyance documents and title property, and fraudulent real estate transactions, and he represents owners and lenders with regard to their title and security interests in real property.

Brian is an active community and industry leader. He has presented numerous educational programs for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Builders Association, the Wisconsin Land Title Association and The Daily Reporter’s construction audience. Brian is an active member of the Wisconsin Land Title Association and the Association of General Contractors. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

James (Jim) E. Braza joined Davis|Kuelthau in 1981. Throughout his career he was an exemplary leader serving in every leadership role possible including President, Board Member, Litigation Team Head, and Construction Industry Chair. Jim has dedicated his career to complex construction litigation, representing clients in the commercial real estate development and construction industries, including owners, developers, contractors and design professionals. His work includes representing the public owner of a major league baseball stadium, a major hotel and entertainment corporation, the owner of a high-rise office tower and various prominent manufacturers in matters such as high-stakes damages claims, interference, scope of work changes, defective construction and fraud, and defective design. A graduate of Marquette University and Cornell University Law School, Jim has earned notable recognition throughout his career including Leader in the Law, Top 15 Construction Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America for his success in commercial and construction litigation.
