Biography
Dan is a member of Davis|Kuelthau’s Corporate Team and previously chaired the firm’s Real Estate practice. For nearly 15 years, he has regularly counseled clients on all phases of real estate development and commercial real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, leases, finance, construction and architect contracts, zoning and land use, and entity formation.
His primary clients are commercial real estate companies that invest in, acquire and develop commercial real estate of all kinds, including retail, office, industrial, health care, and multi-family residential.

Notable Representations
HSI Development Partners, LLC Dan represented HSI Development Partners, LLC with its acquisition, financing, leasing and development of a 9 acre parcel of vacant land located in the City of Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley Industrial Park. In addition to the purchase agreement, he specifically assisted HSI with the following:
- The drafting and negotiation of the architect and construction contracts for a 157,000 square foot mixed use industrial and office building;
- The drafting and negotiation of the lease for the project;
- The project’s government approval process;
- Over four million dollars of New Markets Tax Credit Financing for the project; and
- Over four million dollars of Industrial Revenue Bond financing for the project.
Hammes Company Acquisition of Land Dan assisted Hammes Company Healthcare in its acquisition of land and its development of health care campuses across the United States.
Fiduciary Real Estate Development Acquisition of Land Dan worked closely with Fiduciary Real Estate Development, Inc. in its acquisition of land and its development of residential real estate. He has also assisted Fiduciary in its acquisition and disposition of several apartment buildings here in Wisconsin and elsewhere in the United States.
$450 Million Acquisition Dan assisted GFA Brands with its real estate due diligence in connection with its $450 million acquisition of Smart Balance, a fast growing United States food company.
