Davis & Kuelthau Announces Client’s Grand Opening, Engine Company No. 3

September 11, 2014

MILWAUKEE — Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. has proudly announced the opening of a new spin on a local historic treasure. Peter Sandroni, owner of the acclaimed La Merenda tapas bar and restaurant in Walker’s Point has opened a breakfast-brunch restaurant, Engine Company No. 3, in a former fire station at 217 W. National Avenue. Known for his mission to preserve local family farming, Peter’s latest endeavor will feature his unique flare for incorporating local produce, Wisconsin fish and meats, and various house-made syrups, jams, sausages and infusions.

“It’s been an honor to work with Peter and his wife and co-owner, Sonia, to help them further their unique imprint on Milwaukee’s dining experience,” said Cynthia G. Fletcher, Chair of the firm’s Commercial Finance Team. “Having served La Merenda for nearly 10 years, our first-hand knowledge of Peter’s mission integrated seamlessly into helping them acquire the historic firehouse, accommodate the necessary building parameters, and negotiate the terms of their SBA financing. After more than a year in the making, we are equally humbled to share in Peter and Sonia’s joy in bringing this new twist on a historic building to fruition.”

As featured in Milwaukee Magazine and OnMilwaukee.com, the Sandroni’s celebrated their official opening to the public on September 9, 2014. Beyond their delicious, locally grown menu, the restaurant features the original Cream City brick from the fire house and displays numerous works of art on loan from the Milwaukee Fire Historical Society Ltd.

Engine Company No. 3 is open Tuesday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
