Davis|Kuelthau Appoints Robert W. Habich and Sherry D. Coley to its Board of Directors

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin law firm of Davis|Kuelthau, s.c. today announced Robert W. Habich, commercial real estate attorney, and Sherry D. Coley, commercial and intellectual property litigation attorney, have been appointed as members of the firm’s Board of Directors. Rob and Sherry succeed Ann M. Rieger and Gregory J. Sell who each completed their terms earlier this month and will continue their respective corporate, trusts and estates, and tax practices.

As Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Team, Rob Habich oversees a team of more than 20 attorneys dedicated to serving our commercial real estate clients.  D|K offers one of the largest and most responsive real estate teams in Wisconsin.  As a commercial real estate and community leader, Rob has served as President of NAIOP’s Wisconsin Chapter, President of CoRE Fund – the Commercial Real Estate of Wisconsin Fund, Board Member of the Real Estate Alliance for Charity, Board Member of the Milwaukee Forum, and Member of United Way Impact Committee.

Rob’s practice focuses on assisting clients with acquiring, developing leasing, financing and selling a variety of retail, office, industrial and multi-family projects.

Rob’s success and contributions to the legal industry have earned him recognition in Best Lawyers® in America where he is listed in the practices of construction, corporate, and real estate law for the 2018 edition and has been listed as a Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star for seven consecutive years.

As a commercial and intellectual property litigation attorney, Sherry Coley has earned significant trial experience in both state and federal courts and jury trials representing clients in appeals pending in the state appellate courts of Wisconsin and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  In the area of product liability, she has represented manufacturers in actions involving personal injury, wrongful death and property damage. Additionally, she has represented financial institutions in state and federal court on a variety of commercial lending disputes, including defense of counterclaims raised in response to foreclosure or deficiency actions, and disputes arising from insolvent borrowers, including proceedings in bankruptcy court.

Sherry serves in several professional and community roles including the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Fund, State Bar of Wisconsin’s Board of Governors and is a member of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance.  As an accomplished leader in the legal community, she has been recognized as a Woman in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal, a Fellow by the Wisconsin Law Foundation, a Fellow by the American Bar Foundation, a Wisconsin Super Lawyer®Rising Star for 7 consecutive years and most recently Super Lawyer® for 2019.  Sherry also is the recipient of the 2019 Joyce Bytof Exceptional Mentor Award which recognizes an individual “who is proactive in the advancement of others by sharing time, talent and business experience for the purpose of promoting growth and opportunity in the Fox Cities community”.

Gregory J. Sell joined the firm’s Corporate and Tax team in 1993 and served on the firm’s Board of Directors for nine years.  Greg provides counsel to businesses and individuals on a wide range of tax matters, including corporate, real estate and personal tax planning.  He also is a certified public accountant.

Greg’s success and contributions to the legal industry have most recently been recognized by the Best Lawyers® in America where he is listed as a Best Lawyer® in the areas of Tax and Real Estate for the 2018-2020 editions.

Ann M. Rieger joined the firm’s Corporate Team in 2000 and has served in a variety of firm management roles including President for eight years, member of the firm’s Board of Directors for eleven years, and more recently Chair of the firm’s Non-Profit Organizations Practice.

Ann offers more than three decades of experience serving business owners, professionals and senior executives who appreciate her thoughtful and creative approach to their often complicated personal, tax and financial planning challenges.  She practices in the areas of trusts, estates and succession planning, tax, and non-profit organizations.
