Davis|Kuelthau Attorneys Appointed to Leadership Roles for State Bar of Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE, WI – Davis|Kuelthau is pleased to announce that litigation attorneys, Sherry D. Coley, and Tiffany E. Woelfel, along with labor and employment attorney Anthony J. Steffek have been appointed to serve in various leadership roles for the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Sherry Coley was appointed as the Chair of the Finance Committee by the newly sworn-in President for a one-year term. She currently serves on the Board of Governors as an elected member.

Sherry practices in the areas of complex business litigation with an emphasis on financial services litigation and product liability. During her 15 years of practice, Sherry has earned significant trial experience in both state and federal courts and jury trial representing clients in appeals pending in the state appellate courts of Wisconsin and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. In the area of product liability, she has represented manufacturers in actions involving personal injury, wrongful death and property damage. Additionally, she has represented financial institutions in state and federal court on a variety of commercial lending disputes, including defense of counterclaims raised in response to foreclosure or deficiency actions, and disputes arising from insolvent borrowers, including proceedings in bankruptcy court.

Tiffany Woelfel was been appointed to serve a two-year term on the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Young Lawyers Division. This division encourages members to be leaders in the profession as well as their communities. In her role, Tiffany will assist with the development of networking programs for young lawyers in the region.

Prior to joining Davis|Kuelthau, s.c., Tiffany was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable William C. Griesbach, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and for the Honorable Joe B. McDade, Senior Judge in the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. While in law school, she was also a judicial intern for the Honorable William M. Conley, Judge for the Western District of Wisconsin. She gained experience in the federal law and civil procedure, as well as Wisconsin and Illinois state law.

Anthony (Tony) Steffek was elected to the State Bar Labor and Employment Law Section board for a three-year term. This section keeps members up-to-date on recent developments in the law and also allows members to exchange information and opinions on various labor topics and legal issues in the workplace.

Tony proactively and reactively assists employers, both big and small, in wading through the various HR-related issues that arise in today’s employment world. Proactively, Tony helps with issues such as hiring/firing, noncompetition agreements and other restrictive covenants, disability and ADA issues, FMLA and other leave matters, employee handbook review and revision, sensitive personnel matters and investigations, OSHA compliance, wage and hour issues, and labor negotiations. He also provides public entities and schools, both primary/secondary and post-secondary, with advice and counsel on issues specific to those clients.

Sherry, Anthony and Tiffany began serving in their roles on July 1, 2019.
