Davis|Kuelthau’s 31st Annual School Law Seminar: Court Orders, Kids and Schools, Oh My!

January 23, 2019

Davis|Kuelthau will be hosting its 31st Annual School Law Seminar on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the VUE at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.

The laws governing children and families are more involved than ever before, and frequently they involve a myriad of legal proceedings. Those court proceedings can also impact school districts.

Join us for a panel discussion featuring Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge, Janet Protasiewicz and D|K’s School and Higher Education Law Attorneys, Robert W. Burns, Mary S. Gerbig and Anthony J. Steffek, as they advise on the proper strategies for schools to consider when faced with student specific court orders and subpoenas.

Specifically, the panel will address:

  • How School District Administrators can navigate through court orders and parent or foster parent requests
  • Best practices when teachers or other staff are subpoenaed to appear in court hearings
  • Implications with special needs students

Davis|Kuelthau’s School Law Seminar is held in conjunction with the WASB/WASDA/WASBO Education ConventionVisit us during the Convention at Booth 601.
