MILWAUKEE, WI – Davis|Kuelthau, s.c. attorney Brian Pfeil, a member of the Construction Industry Team and Chair of the Litigation Team, was selected by The Daily Reporter as one of its 2020 Icon of Construction awardees. This award honors construction industry workers and service providers who have demonstrated leadership, contributed to their community and successfully achieved positive outcomes in their career.
As a member of Davis|Kuelthau’s Construction Industry Team, Brian has represented commercial builders, developers, residential builders and remodelers, homeowners, and many subcontractors in a variety of construction disputes for the past 23 years. Being all things property related, Brian’s legal practice focuses on three areas of real property disputes: 1) resolving commercial litigation disputes for construction projects, 2) addressing property rights in lien priority disputes and other document challenges, and 3) representing owners and lenders regarding their title and security interests.
As a leader in both the construction and the legal industries, Brian was recently selected from among more than 20 qualified colleagues to serve as Davis|Kuelthau’s Litigation Team Chair. Brian is an active member of the Association of General Contractors, Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Land Title Association. He has presented numerous educational programs for a variety of construction associates and regularly authors thought-leadership content on timely legal and business news impacting the construction industry. His leadership content includes “Technology Trends in Construction”, “Unlike Diamonds, Easements Are Not Always Forever”, and “U.S. Court of Appeals Upholds OSHA’s New Rule Limiting Exposure to Silica”. In 2018, Brian was invited by leaders of the 32nd Annual DBE Workshop and Secretary’s Golden Shovel Awards to present “Who Has the Liability?” to area minority-owned construction contractors. His session provided critical insight on how project managers can effectively safeguard their companies prior to the start of construction projects, how best to open the lines of communication when project issues arise, and how to properly document matters likely to be called into question. This prominent conference is hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the National Association of Minority Contractors. In 2017, Brian presented at The Daily Reporter’s Construction Summit where he offered key perspectives to area construction contractors on various construction defect disputes and project contract considerations. Brian is committed to educating and advising industry professionals as demonstrated by his history of leadership. Brian earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The 2020 Icon of Construction Award will be presented to Brian and 12 other individuals on December 2nd.
