Davis|Kuelthau’s Construction Industry Team cordially invites industry in-house counsel, executives and HR professionals to the State Bar of Wisconsin’s upcoming CLE and networking event, Redefining Leadership in Construction: How a Diverse Team Gets Better Results.
Construction has long been a male-dominated field, but women and other diverse professionals are changing the landscape. These changes along with the #metoo movement provide opportunity and risk for construction firm management. The challenge is learning how to retain diverse talent effectively. Redefining Leadership in Construction features Bonnie Fetch, Executive Director of Cummins, Inc. and former 20-year employee of Caterpillar. Ms. Fetch is a nationally renowned speaker on this and related topics.
Following the presentation, Ms. Fetch will join a panel discussion with various members of the State Bar’s Construction & Public Contract Law Section and Labor & Employment Section who are involved in every aspect of construction industry employment. The discussion will address topics such as how to:
- Develop a workplace that avoids behaviors that lead to HR complaints and lawsuits
- Lead a team that recognizes the value added by women and professionals with diverse backgrounds
- Create opportunities and open new seats at the table
- Navigate the legalities of the hiring process and avoid unconscious bias
This seminar will be held at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee on Wednesday, November 14 from 3:00 – 5:30 PM. Registration is complimentary for Davis|Kuelthau guests. CLE credit, appetizers and refreshments are included.
