Retired Davis & Kuelthau Attorney Receives George Tipler Award from Wisconsin School Attorneys Association

MILWAUKEE – Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. is proud to announce retired Labor and Employment and School and Higher Education Law Attorney, Paul C. Hemmer is this year’s recipient of the George Tipler Award from the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association (WSAA). This distinguished award honors individuals for their excellence and dedication to school law in Wisconsin. Only 29 attorneys have ever received this award.

The WSAA assists and facilitates the exchange of information among attorneys practicing school law in the State of Wisconsin. The association has more than 120 members and is governed by a seven member board of directors.

Hemmer began his law career in 1974, earning his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School, his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Norbert College and his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Labor Law from George Washington University. He later joined Davis & Kuelthau in 1996 as a shareholder. Hemmer focused his practice on providing counsel to private and public sector employers, including corporations, school districts, and municipalities throughout the state. In particular, he worked with numerous Sheboygan-based businesses on a wide range of labor and employment issues. After 17 years of service, Paul retired from the firm in March of 2013.

The program will take place at noon on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Madison Public Library – Central Branch. Paul’s award will be presented during the conclusion of WSAA’s Annual meeting.
